On November 7, 2017, regarding guns and mass shootings Senator Angus King said, “It’s always a fellow.”

It could be a woman next time.

In 1955, The Case of the Careless Suffragette portrayed an enthusiastic young woman fighting for the right to vote. She acquires a bomb intended only to scare, but it explodes and kills a member of Parliament. (Ronald Howard played Sherlock Holmes before Basil Rathbone.) I couldn’t keep my mind from drifting to our own bombing disasters in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2013. It looks like we’re due.

All but one in their twenties (one was thirty-three).

A friend was upset with me and didn’t want to hear any “politics.” I explained a definition of politics28 that is easy to grasp: “the science of governing; whether it is governing your home, a city, a state, a country, a kingdom or even the heavens above.”

There should be rules. There should be respect for one another. Today, there is great chaos and disrespect across the nation—and there has been since a biracial man was elected president of the United States in 2008.

The Sunday school director in my church almost pushed me down a hallway after the election. She didn’t know anything about Barack Obama. None of us did. Making matters worse was that a woman was set to take the White House in 2016. Many men said, “No, no way—we’ll end the world before we’ll let that happen!”

What are these men hiding? Whatever it is, women will see through it. We will see who they are, covering for each other’s bad behavior—even Franklin Graham, God forbid. It only goes to show how no family is exempt from male aggression. A record number of federal department heads have been caught pilfering. Maybe not pilfering, since it means “small amounts.” There were no small amounts for these guys. They took huge amounts—and they were rich already!

Look at Alabama. Mike Hubbard, speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives, was indicted by a grand jury and charged with twenty-three counts of using his office for personal gain. Robert J. Bentley served as governor from 2011 until 2017. He resigned after he was arrested because of a sex scandal. There was also the Roy Moore child-molestation debacle.
